Description	Poster promoting a yes vote on September 29, 1959 election regarding renovation of the existing Civic Auditorium and Ice Arena buildings on the grounds of the future Century 21 Exposition (Seattle World's Fair). From the poster: “Here is Seattle’s chance to build a superb new Concert Hall, ustilizing only the ‘shell’ of the Civic Auditorium. The Hall will have a 150’x70’ stage, be perfect acoustically…complete with air-conditioning, escalators, and a beautiful grand lobby…provide exhibition space for conventions. In addition, over $200,000 will be spent in re-facing the entire building and 12 auxiliary meeting rooms (capacity: 1200) will be built into the structure. You won’t recognize the old Auditorium inside or out! Civic Center plans call for immediate re-modeling of the Ice Arena. Better seating and improved sight lines so you will get more enjoyment from ice hockey, basketball, ice shows, etc. Seating capacity: 5500. We urgently need a small 800-seat auditorium for children’s activities, art shows, music performances, and hundreds of week-to-week community and convention meetings. This is a special plus available from the Civic Center funds.”
